How can we help your organization?
The co-owners of The Winslow Group established the firm in 1983 following years of dedicated
service as an employee of and consultant to nonprofit organizations. We have more than 25 years' experience providing
fund raising and management counsel as well as associated research and computer assistance.
To help ensure a project's success, outside support may be required
that supplements the fund raising counsel we provide. For example, a professionally-designed brochure is a key
ingredient in a campaign. Or a business plan may need to be created for the organization before it can move forward
with a campaign. We have formed strategic alliances with experts in those areas whose specialties enhance
our own, including organizational planning consultants, marketing and public
relations specialists, architects, graphic designers, and video producers.
The benefit of this team
approach is that your organization has access to the professional guidance it may need in areas that complement the
fund raising process.
To keep our overhead costs
low, we draw on the knowledge and experience of these outside professionals as needed rather than maintaining
our own full-time staff of specialists. As a result, our fees are lower than a larger consulting firm
might charge.
By providing the
services of known and trusted experts with whom we have successfully worked on other projects, we can ensure efficient
and timely project execution at a fair price.

A graduate of the North
Carolina School of the Arts, Mr. Winslow began his fund raising career more than 25 years ago as head of the School’s
International Music Program Orchestra, working primarily in Italy and Germany. He
later headed up the School’s fund raising efforts in North Carolina. Since
its founding in 1983, The Winslow Group has established itself as the premier fund raising firm for social services, arts
and historic preservation in the state. Mr. Winslow was previously a Board
member of the national League of Historic American Theatres, SciWorks (formerly the Nature Science Center), the Winston-Salem/Piedmont
Triad Symphony, and the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Coalition on Drug and Alcohol Problems.
In 1999, he assisted the Governor’s Office in coordinating the fund raising effort on behalf of the victims of
Hurricane Floyd, specifically in soliciting foundation support for the campaign. In
2005, the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation provided funding to The Winslow Group to produce “Reaching Out to Those in Need: A Guide to Establishing a Successful Disaster Relief Fund.”
