A graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts, David Winslow began his fund raising career in 1978 as head of the School’s International Music Program Orchestra, working primarily in Italy and Germany. He later managed the School’s fund raising efforts in North Carolina. Founded in 1983, The Winslow Group has become one of North Carolina’s premier fund raising firms for historic preservation, the arts, and social services. David’s past and current Board affiliations include the national League of Historic American Theatres, SciWorks (formerly the Nature Science Center), the Winston-Salem/Piedmont Triad Symphony, the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Coalition on Drug and Alcohol Problems, and the Semans Art Fund of the North Carolina School of the Arts. In 1999, he assisted the Governor’s Office in coordinating the fund raising effort on behalf of the victims of Hurricane Floyd, specifically in soliciting foundation support for the campaign. In 2005, the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation provided funding to The Winslow Group to produce “Reaching Out to Those in Need: A Guide to Establishing a Successful Disaster Relief Fund.” |
